Frozen- Covid Style

Image
I give Tina credit! She was bound and determined to make a way for the kids to continue to do a musical! It wasn't live, instead it was taped and then shown "live." I am really proud of Zach for doing it. It was kind of hard to watch and follow but I did manage to find him in parts. He played Weaselton and was the comic relief and then I think a troll guy (I don't know their official name). To be honest it was hard to watch at times because of the audio and such but I managed to get THESE clips of the Goose. Ali also joined the team in the Frozen stuff... She did the choreography for some of the dancers (not the "regular" kids- the legit dancers). To teach the kids she zoomed with them and then also made this video (slow and regular speed) to help them. I just wanted to put it here to remember this time. HERE is the video.

My Wonderful Wizard!

Zach wasn't super pumped about his role as the Wizard but he honestly ROCKED it! I was so proud of him. I went to 3 of the 4 shows and was so glad I took a video from his first show because someone forgot to put one of his props in his suitcase and he did a great improv recovery! That kid never fails to amaze me! I did the "Meet the Cast" sign and all the Bios with help from Nana. You see Ali in there because she did much of the choreography and when I saw the Tin-man tapping, I knew that was her doing. She ended up being the stage manager so didn't see the show from the audience. She put in a lot of hours with those kids and I'm equally proud of her! I love that we got a little photo-bomb, with Mrs. H (Band Director at WLN and mom to one of the Dorothys). There were pictures of Z acting, but I figured I would just share the video I took of him HERE . Z's "Best Buddy", aka Papa, was so impressed with him and must have said it a mill...

Zach Sings!

Image
The middle school musical this year is "The Wizard of Oz" and Zach wanted to try out as the part of the scarecrow. I got a great video of him singing HERE and am amazed at what a great singer he is! I posted it on FB and even my friend who is a music teacher and vocal instructor was so impressed! This was his second time singing the song. Sadly (since I'm playing catch-up), he didn't get the part and didn't get a singing part at all which he was really bummed about (we all were). He was sick but I don't think it affected him that much, but maybe I was wrong... What fun to see his sibs rally around him though. They were so supportive and sweet that it made my heart swell! He did get the part of the Wizard of Oz but you know every time I hear a flat note, I'll be hearing this kid's voice in my head. Proud of you, Goosie! You are such a talent! You're going to be the best Oz out there!

Showtime! Mary Poppins Jr!

Image
I can't believe that the weeks of Mary Poppins have ended- just like that! I could not be more proud of my kids! I am so thankful for Mrs. Connell because she made my kids shine in ways I didn't know they could! Mr. Moy was also great! He volunteered and needs to get a job in WL! He and Al worked a lot with the choreography and Ali promised Mrs. C. she'd be back to choreograph CHS's performances until she graduated from HS! I think she was excited about that!  Zach was Michael Banks and he was ridiculous!!! And I mean that in the nicest way possible. In my eyes he was a perfect little, mischievous boy! He has an amazing voice and was a great little actor to boot. I had NO IDEA that he could pull this off but he did it and blew my socks off. Another parent told me, "He stole the show!" which was sweet. I don't know about that, but he did get laughs and he did an outstanding job!! I was also so proud of Ali! She played the part of Neleus the ...
