LA Dance Magic Competition
The first competition of the year was a long one. They started early (6:45 for classes) and ended late (awards were scheduled for just before midnight!!). Since they had classes again the next day, Julia and I decided to get a room so the girls could sleep (a little anyway...). Al was worried about this competition because she had to dance up with the teens which meant leaving her best buddies. She did OK once she got there though and we did get to have one lunch together at least. On day one they had about 10 minutes (I'm serious) so I just ran some food into her. The competition was kind of spread out since she had some 12 and under pieces and some 12 and older. We saw some good dances but it blows my mind what they have some of the dancers wear and the moves they do. Yikes! Seeing some of this makes me really thankful for the studio where Al dances. Needless to say it was a LOOONG day and Al had to stay for the awards because she was chosen to get the aw...
