Family Time

Image
We had a rare moment with all of us home and it was WONDERFUL but it didn't last too long. Soon Joe was back off to school/work and the rest of us were off to a DCFC game. The games really are a lot of fun and not too expensive. Of course we first stopped to get some good Polish food! We had Kielbasa Kapusta dogs and Pierogi which was SOOOO good! It is really such a fun vibe. We sat on the opposite side we usually sit because it was packed. We actually really liked it and had a great view of the game and the area where everyone eats/drinks/hangs. Zach got a new shirt and owes me for life. I'm glad I have that down in writing now. Unfortunately it was an awful game. The other team scored in the first few minutes and then nothing much happened on either side. We decided to leave a bit early and beat the crowd. We actually saw Dave Baldwin there which was really cool too. I put together THIS quick video of more of my pictures.

Our Week Up North

Image
We were so lucky to be able to spend our mid-winter break in Elk Rapids! Danny usually goes but he went and visited Nicole and now that our baby is in Traverse City, we're trying to get up there as much as possible! Joey wasn't able to join us but Ali was able to come for the tail end of the weekend. Most of the week though was me, Jeff, and the Littles. Wendi and Scott came too and I'll write separate posts of some of our other adventures. It was so great to see Zach! I feel like I don't see him enough and he's far enough away that you can't just go for a day or weekend. It's a lot of driving. They had A LOT of snow up north (you can't see it in that picture. Of course Z was in crocs! I've never been up north in the winter but it was gorgeous! I realized that I forgot my shoes!!! EHHH! So I did miles in my docs. Not the best footwear for longer treks but oh well. I love my five mile route there and I was going to do it with or without shoes! Another...

Finally Family Time

Image
It has been so nice having the family together! Zach was having his girlfriend and friend come down to spend some time down here, so I wanted to squeeze in one last family outing! Dawn was telling me about the Flint Institute of Art and it sounded like a great way to spend the afternoon! We all kind of went at our own pace and it was so much fun seeing all the art and learning different things.  We realized that Kat and Jacob were getting close so we didn't have time to eat together so Jeff took Z home and then we followed and later the rest of us all went out to eat at Kickstand. It was so nice to be together for an afternoon and bonus- I got a family picture of all six of us. I never knew before how much I would treasure these moments all being together! My Marty And of course- I can't forget my other boys!! My Fender

Spring Break 2022

Image
Well... Joey's last Spring Break with us isn't exactly what we thought it would be... Our dog sitters fell through so dad stayed home while the rest of us were off! I was nervous about driving since he always does the majority of the driving but I had Joe and Al and it wasn't too bad. It was so great to get there and we of course hit Nacho Hippo the first night. The weather was pretty cool but getting out of the snow was all we really cared about! We did have a day that was nice and warm and we took advantage of that! It was fun that the cousins got this last hoorah together! Of course Joe wanted to hit the wing place one last time- it was a bit strange again not having dad there. They were going to send him pictures but then thought that may be mean. We also hit a new putt-putt place (or at least I don't remember it). It was kinda cool because you had to take a train to get to the holes. We had runs, played games, Joe played music, and we ate and laughed and it was a f...

New Year's Eve!

Image
So I ran with my dad on New Year's Eve which was awesome especially because the last couple days had been a bit of a roller coaster! I believe I mentioned that Jen was positive and so I took a test that was negative and since I was symptom free- I went to that game. Well, what I forgot to mention was that I went all over town to actually try to get a test (which was impossible). I ended up getting tested at CVS which sends their tests out- but when I talked to Jodi, she had some so I took her at-home test which was negative... (You following this?) Anyway- my CVS test came back POSITIVE! I was in shock and took another at-home test which was negative. So now I was super confused so I called my doctor who swabbed me themself and said that THEIR test would be totally accurate. Long story shorter- they had me negative too so we're going to just go with that and since no one I was ever with ended up getting sick, I'm assuming we're good. Still, we did NYE with just us. With...
