The Pirate Show

Sean did a GREAT job in the play, "The Pirate Show." He was a bit of comic relief because he played the "Shark Bait' and had to woo another pirate! It was funny! They were both great and big crowd pleasers! The cool thing is, his counter-part also happens to be the sister of one of my remote kindergarteners! It was so great to see Lydia (my first time seeing her in real life!). I have no idea why I don't have a picture with Nana and Papa or the Drapals... maybe they missed it. I'm playing MAJOR catch up- but I do have clips of Seany's parts that you can see HERE .

Game of Tiaras

Ali was excited to try out for the school play which was a great comedy based loosely on "The Game of Thrones" television show  (one of Jeff's and my favorites) but with princess characters. Ali was cast as Cinderella who was perhaps the evilest of all the princesses! She rocked it and I am so incredibly proud of her! The play was really funny and everyone who saw it really enjoyed it~ Danny said it may be his favorite!! I got Ali her costumes (perhaps future dresses for HS dances?) which was still way cheaper than any dance costume.  Another neat thing was that she was cast in the show with one of her best friends, Ellie, who was Elsa (or I should say the Princess who could not be named due to copyright infringement). I would love to see a high school do this show to see the thing in its entirety. The middle school shows are shorter than the high school.  In the final battle scene, Ali came out in a Power Ranger suit which was also hilarious and she and E...

Ali Doran- Hi! My name is Ali Doran. I am 14 years old and in 8th grade. I play the role of Cinderella. This is only my second show here at Smart. In Mary Poppins, I played Neleus, helped choreograph the dance numbers, and also played a featured chimney sweep. In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, reading, hanging out with friends, and playing card games with my family. I would like to thank my parents and brothers for supporting me and encouraging me to do what I love. I would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Connell for all of her hard work on this show and allowing everyone to participate in such an amazing program. I hope you enjoy the show! Zach Doran- Hi, my name is Zach Doran. I am 12 years old and in 6th grade and I play the trombone. This is my 4th show at CHS and I love to do the shows and do all kinds of things. My favorite animal is a tortoise and my favorite color is yellow. One fact about me is that I have a pet tortoise named Mortoise the Tortoise or ...

Final Performance (gulp)

While Al and I were busy at her dance competition, the rest of the family was busy with other things. Z had a soccer game and then they were all off to see Joey in his play. Even though I wasn't there, I was very thankful that others were who could send me pictures. As I've mentioned (I think) in other posts, CHS double casts which is quite brilliant since you have a built in understudy should something happen. Joe and his buddy Garrett were both cast as the White Knight! They both were wonderful. I'm so proud of these two! I also loved that Ella and Joey were in the same cast! She was the White Knight's side-kick and did an outstanding job! These two have gone to school since elementary and Ella played soccer with Al for years too.  I can't wait to see what they do in high school! Ella's mom sent me these pictures. After their first show, Joe changed out of his costume so fast I didn't even get a picture with him so Ella's mom and I made...

Joe's Opening Night!

Image
With a busy weekend coming up (which including a dance competition), Al and I were not going to be able to see Joey's performance with the rest of the family. We actually went both Thursday (when he was just in the cast) to see Al and Joe's other friends and then again on Joe's opening night which was Friday. On Thursday we got to meet Lily and her dad. Lily is a girl Joe's been talking to a lot and she's adorable. Her dad seemed super nice too. The fact that she brought her dad to meet Joe on a day he was not the star told me that it was serious. Her mom was going to come on the Saturday show (which of course I wasn't at). It continues to blow me away that Joe can pull things together when he needs to. He was still learning lines days before the play which was stressful to say the least but he looked calm and cool and was super funny in this comedy. I took video that you can see HERE of the whole show (well- Joey's parts). He also did some funny ...
