Sean Asher

Updated 1-15-18

Sean is the Gr8 8 and is an AVID reader. He inhales books and takes them most everywhere we go. Sean loves playing with friends and his sibs and loves his screen time too. He still has fun on the soccer field and scored his first goal on a real team with real goalies on his "bad foot which means I have two good feet now." (He's still as funny as ever.)

He has an incredibly sweet heart and is regularly telling his sibs (if they are arguing) to be kind. The other day I caught him crying and asked him why and he said, "Because you love me so much and I'm just so lucky to have such a great family." I don't know where he gets this from but his kind, sweet soul blows me away and makes me very proud.

Sean gets along with everyone and is also very honest if he doesn't make a good choice, he's the first to tell us about it. Sean is taking after both his big brothers and keeping a sketch book just like them.

Woah! A lot can happen in 3 years! Sean is an amazing 7 year old who is learning to read and actually LOVES books. He carries them around with him everywhere and his favorite present at Christmas was a book that is quite worn already!
Seany is super outgoing but what I love about him most is his kind heart. If people are fighting, he is quick to jump in to make things stop. He also regularly prompts us to play the "nice" game where we say something nice about someone else. He usually does this when his siblings are fighting. He's a pretty special kid and we all resolved that we should be more like Sean in the new year!
As kind as he is, he's a pretty messy kid. He loves having "things" little toys or cars always in his hands or pockets (still). He also regularly seems to find his way into our bed. I'm still not sure how it happens... I think he gets up in the night to use the bathroom and instead of going to his room, joins Jeff and I.
He loves being on stage and he also surprised us all being a pretty good soccer player! We're so lucky he's part of our family!

"Seany Asher Doran" (as he calls himself) is not like the rest of his sibs and that could be because he is the baby and tries so hard to fit in with the rest of them.  He does keep up though remains my baby always coming to mama for a cuddle.

The funniest things about Sean at the moment is he LOVES to say names (this could also be quite annoying though too).  He literally will say my name before and after every sentence (and sometimes in the middle too).  He does this with Jeff and Nana and Papa and even has started doing it with Miss Kim (his teacher).

He is a huge cuddle bug and says things that I don't want to correct like, "I cuddle you."  He shows up in our bed most mornings (I think he sneaks in around 6) and usually joins me in the basement while I'm on the treadmill to jump in the "dry pool" (aka the couch cushions).

Sean loves penguins (mostly his three pillow pets that he won't sleep without), watching the Bigs play Skylanders and playing with super hero things (Hulk Smash, Iron Man... etc).

He is my baby and I really wish I could just press the pause button sometimes (though I am VERY happy that he finally got that potty power).

Love him!

This is Sean.  He's three now, but he still has some of that terrible two in him!  Of all of our kids, I think that Sean can be the toughest.  I don't think that this is just his age.  He has a spitfire personality and also being the youngest, he has really looked to the Bigs and wants to keep up with them.  He will go to be in his bed but usually ends up in one of his sibs beds in the morning.  I used to say that if he were the first, he may have been an only.  The only thing is this kids LOVES his siblings (and I love that he refers to them as the Bigs... getting lazy, just like his mama)!

I may have made it sound like Sean is all trouble, but he does have a sweetness about him too.  He will apologize regularly if he does something wrong or go and rub someone's back (sweetest. thing. ever), when they are sad.

Sean's vocabulary has really taken off this year.  He's a smart kid ( knowing all his letters and numbers now) and loves his books (just like the Bigs... YEAH!!).  The only thing he has NOT done yet, (that I am PRAYING happens sometime in 2013) is ditch the diapers!  There are many things I will miss about having Littles, those diapers are not one of them...

This is Sean.
He may look sweet and innocent but I can tell you that a lot of my stress lies behind that smile!  Sean is now a "terrible" two year old.  I have made it through three other two year olds and I never quite understood the phrase... Now I do!

Despite Sean's "terrible" moments which may include throwing things (aka ornaments off my tree, milk of the table), climbing (to get apples off the counter and eat them leaving the remains somewhere in the house), bugging his sibs and the occasional hitting (which is at this point not hard, just annoying), Sean can be sweet as can be.  He does say sorry often and runs to give hugs and kisses.

Sean is in love with all things Sesame Street.  It is the only show that he watches and recently I noticed that he knows most of his letters! (Thank you Sesame Street!)

Much like his brother, he is a boy of babble.  Though we do understand him some of the time most of the time he speaks in another language (quite seriously) to get his point across.

This is Sean.
I will tell you he is a very sweet lovable little guy.  My parents (who watched him when I went back to work this year, may tell you otherwise...)  Sean is our baby and our LAST born.  He is used to having people around him to watch and play with and now that he is mobile, he is a much happier camper.

As you can tell, he loves to eat! (But then all our boys were chubby monkeys and didn't grow a neck for a while... now they are toothpicks!)  He loves to stand up and walk holding onto people's hands or cruise the furniture. (He is anxious to walk run to keep up with all those sibs I'm guessing.)  Ali Jane was walking at 9 months, but then she didn't have a big head like (all) the boys to balance up there!

Sean likes to get into his sibs' things and laugh at his dogs.  He also thinks it's quite funny to say, "Dah dah" after I tell him "Ma ma"- oh well... one day he'll realize who's been feeding him and keeping him so healthy this first year of life.

Sean is our chunky monkey and I love nibbling on his little cheeks.
