Days with the Dorans

After a year off, Al decided to do the Talent Show at her school again.  The girls actually did it all  on their own- choreographing it on their recess and didn't spend ANY time outside of recesses practicing (which actually makes this more impressive).  I'm actually really bummed I didn't get a picture of all the girls together.  They called themselves the "Unlucky 7" or "Petsch's Pretties" (named after their teacher).  Truth be told there was a lot of drama over the talent show- people in... people out-  and I'm glad it's over and life can be peaceful again. Sadly, it was during this time that we LOST ALI JANE'S DANCE JACKET!!!  It's still lost as I write this and I'm just heartbroken over it (since she's heartbroken over it).  She wore that jacket EVERY day the last couple years.  It seriously was the best money I ever spent.  We've looked EVERYWHERE for the jacket and since she wore it EVERY day we know exactly ...

Ali Jane took part in her first elementary Talent Variety Show last week but she almost didn't make it!  I think I mentioned in previous posts that there was a flu bug making its way through our kids.  It actually wasn't too bad because it was totally gone in 24 hours.  Since it had been over a week since the last boy got it (Z), I thought perhaps it had skipped Ali.  Sadly, I was wrong.  She came down with it at the end of school  on a Thursday~  Missed her softball game~  Threw up (only once thankfully) and was completely wiped out!  She was to perform her 'act' for the talent show the next day at the end of school for the student body so I told her to just rest and sleep and that Nana would bring her to school when she woke up and had some food on her tummy (thanks mom!).  Well, it didn't go quite that smoothly.  Ali was REALLY wiped out- didn't want to eat ANYTHING and at 2:00 was STILL sleeping!!  I didn't know qu...
