Days with the Dorans

While we were gone, Sean had his band camp. It was weird not volunteering (but the sign-ups were filled up literally immediately- I've never seen anything like it). It was also weird that I couldn't see him and like his sibs, he's not the best at taking pictures. Thankfully the camp people take lots of pictures and I was able to see him in some! They had a Pink Day, Super Hero Day, America Day, Beach Day and Section Day. They wore Togas and I was logging in like crazy when we were away but they never posted them! I hope to find some eventually. Here are some of the pictures I got! Clarinets Flexing! (Their section won!) Mary H sent me this! I was so happy since I hadn't see him! And because that crazy kid of mine, they won!! Sean won the individual award for being "El Nacho"~ I guess he was a huge hit! America Day! Beach Day Someone turned my kid into a mermaid!  

  I can't believe my baby is a senior and off to his LAST Band Camp. It was HOME camp first so he and Z went off each morning for a full day of music! I was busy working on the laundry room so I didn't volunteer for this camp (except to send donations of things). Thankfully there are people there who take lots of pictures so I got to "see" what my boys were up to. Mary Hulliberger (their teacher/ director) also snapped a selfie of she and Joe and sent it to me so I had to include that here too. They had a blast and I think it was so nice to have some NORMAL back. Joe, Victor, and Patrick- SENIORS

So obviously with Covid, there was no band camp, but they were still able to kind of do a band camp but on the field. There were temp checks and masks. I'm still glad the kids got this time. I was hiding behind my sunglasses and hat because my eyebrows got REALLY dark! Thankful for photographers who snapped these pics of Joe!

So exciting!!! Home Band Camp has begun! This year I am able to volunteer a bit and it's been fun meeting new people. I wasn't actually ever outside though (I helped out my friend Jessica- volunteer extraordinaire). I helped with uniforms and got to fit Joe with his and... he grew! YAYA!!! This is all VERY new to Ali! She is playing in the pit which is nothing like playing the viola! The attitude for this year is try everything once and see if you like it. She's still not sure but so far is doing pretty well with learning the new instrument and meeting new people. I guess both Doran kids were recognized for their great marching skillz! I love that there are volunteers to take pictures of kids- I found this one on the site of Ali and her friends. There was also this pic of Joey with his friends! I think they all look happy! Joey LOVES marching band! He loves the family feel and can't stop talking about it. That's good because I'm loving marching...
