The TF comes for the TZ

Image
Wouldn't ya know it... At almost midnight I hear this, "Auntie Laura??" It was TZ and that first wiggly tooth of his came out!!! I couldn't believe he lost his FIRST tooth at a sleepover. I wasn't sure we would make it in time for the Tooth Fairy's nightly journey. We put it in the Doran boys' tooth pillow and crossed our fingers she'd come and.... SHE DID!!! He had two dollars the next morning! It was so exciting we face-timed everyone so they could see his new smile! Love you, TZ!!

FINALLY! (IT'S GONE!!)

Image
Sean is NOT the kind of kid who wiggles his teeth and wants them out! One of his front teeth fell out on September 23rd and on that day his other front tooth was loose. I have NO idea how that tooth held on for as long as it did but TODAY IT FELL OUT! (It is October 15th.) And now he can sing, "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!" That tooth fairy has been busy!!!

Sean LOSES his tooth...

To the Tooth Fairy. From, Sean I am so sorry I lost my tooth! and I can't find it. Can I still get a dollar? xoxoxoxoxoxo Thankfully, the Tooth Fairy decided to give him a dollar anyway... He got lucky! She wrote him back but I forgot to take a picture of that (bad mom).

Sean's FIRST lost tooth!

Image
Sean first told us he had a loose tooth a week ago. I figured it would be quite a while (if memory served me right with the others) before it actually came out. He was avoiding eating his favorite (green apples) and I didn't see him wiggle it really at all! We were having a family movie night (Finding Dori) when Sean jumped up and said, "I LOST MY TOOTH!" That was it! No blood or work! He put it under his pillow (or next to his bed actually) and the tooth fairy brought him $5!!! That's what the Bigs got for their first tooth too! What a lucky kid!!

All He Wants for Christmas

Image
As little as Z is- he is certainly starting to grow out of those baby teeth!  He lost both of his front teeth and I LOVE IT!!  Mostly because he can sing that song now, "All I want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth!" (I, nor the Bigs- never could since we all lost our front teeth at different times). Z was really excited- and perhaps even more so because it looked like Artie helped out TF (Tooth Fairy)- or at least found Z's tooth.  We all laughed when we found the tooth pillow near Artie! Joe has also lost two molars this month- thankfully they weren't attached to his braces.  He made some major scores!  $5!!  I guess TF made a good haul that night and only had fives!  He's a lucky guy and we'll all be crossing our fingers Joe gets us something good for Christmas! ;-)

Goose Loses his First Tooth!!

Image
Zach had had a loose tooth for quite a while and I thought perhaps we'd have a Doran who lost a tooth while in first grade and today we did!  And he was IN first grade (as in school).  I got a call while on my way home that Z lost his tooth and sure enough when I pulled in, there was my Goose waiting at the door with a wonderful smile (minus one tooth).  He told me, "I was just waiting in line for PE (that stands for gym, mom) and wiggling my tooth and then it just popped out."  He got a little container for his tooth and after he showed it to me, I told him to run upstairs and put it next to his bed (we had a busy night with piano and a game for Al... all days are busy for us lately). Well, after we got home and did some writing and reading (I was surprised that Z didn't write about his tooth but some made up story with gross things in it... I won't elaborate) and showers and baths it was time to go to bed, only Z couldn't find his tooth!!  Thi...

A Blog by the Bigs

Image
Dear Tooth Fairy, I have a question.  Well, Joey's tooth hasn't growed.  Joey didn't lose a tooth.  I lost a tooth.  After dance, I pulled and pulled and out it came.  I can't wait!  And hear's some water and a snack. Why can't we keep out teeth?  Eat Up! Love, Ali and Joey A lego table with a small red cup of water and a gold fish snack. Another hole in her head. Bigs pretending to be asleep... waiting...

Toothless Ali

Image
So I recognize that this is not the most flattering picture, but in going back through pictures and trying to play 'catch-up' in my late-night blogging I realized I didn't have a good picture showing the new holes in Ali's mouth.  This was the best I had and maybe I will take a new one and update it later (but who I am kidding... I shouldn't even be blogging with my long list of 'to-dos'. A couple Fridays ago, I got an email from Ali's teacher warning me that Ali would be looking a little different when I next saw her... she lost TWO teeth in school.  Because it was a Friday, it was a 'sleep-over' day.  Ali didn't want the Tooth Fairy to miss her so she left directions (taped to our hallway with stickers) from her room to the 'Sleep Over' room... Zach's Room Leave me a note. I am pleased to announce that the Tooth-Fairy did in fact find Ali (thanks to her directions) and also left her a note. (Sheesh... my ...

Ali loses her first tooth (finally)

Image
There are two reasons for the title of this post: 1) Ali has had a loose tooth since before December and 2) She actually lost it a week ago and I am just now FINALLY getting around to writing about it (work, life and workouts have had me too busy to hop on the computer as of late). Al had been gently wiggling her front tooth for quite a while, but when she showed my brother (back in December) and for some crazy reason allowed him near her mouth, I thought for sure she would lose it! Well she didn't. It got really loose, but in the end she said she was done and I think Danny felt pretty bad about having her in tears. I was shocked she let him pull on it as long as she did but she did get some ice cream to eat as tears silently dripped down her poor, sweet face. In the weeks that followed, I sent my brother a text that said, "LOST TOOTH!" knowing he would think it would be Ali... But alas, it was Joe and Al's tooth still just hung on. Last weekend Dan and Steph cam...

Taffy and Teeth

Image
We knew that our kids would be later in losing their teeth because they were later in getting them. The three Bigs all cut their first teeth a little after age 1, and Sean didn’t cut his first tooth until 15 months! Joe has had a loose tooth for weeks but hasn’t been working it the way many students I have had do (with bloody kleenexes making crazy faces bending teeth that hang by a string... ugh). We tried giving Joe 'harder' foods like apples and such but would only eat them cut up which defeats the purpose (of losing a tooth while biting a hard apple). While up North, we got taffy in hopes that it would help Joe get that tooth out. The kids were having an evening treat of taffy after getting their pajamas on and suddenly Joe comes to me with a mouth full of blood (he didn’t even notice the blood) saying, “I LOST MY TOOTH! I LOST MY TOOTH!” He was holding a piece of brown and white colored taffy and sure enough there was the tooth smack dab in the middle of the c...
