Dancers at the Wave Pool

Image
The summer felt like it had a slow start with Seany's surgery. So good to have him feeling better. When I got the call from our dance peeps about a day at the wave pool I knew we would ALL be in! The girls had a blast as usual as us mommies hung in the shade and had fun catching up. This year I went in the studio it seemed only to turn in a check. I can't complain- dropping off and picking up is so easy but I do miss seeing all the people. The boys came too and had a lot of fun. Goose hung out with Bryn's brother and Seany and Joe opted to stay home to mow the lawns (us and my folks). Not a bad summer gig.

Al hits the Waves!

Al was soooo upset when she learned that 5th grade was NOT doing the 13 Colonies' Play (a tradition at her elementary school that her brother got to partake in last year) and she was furious when she heard they may also not be able to go to the Wave Pool (also a tradition). Thankfully she was wrong on the Wave Pool part and they DID go.  She had heard (probably correctly) that they weren't supposed to go because it wasn't "educational"~ Those arguments always drive me mad because just building your schema and EXPERIENCING different things is educational! Of course I was busy the day of the field trip (WORKING) but Nana saved the day by heading over to snap a few pictures of my girl and another mom sent me the group picture with Al, some friends and their teacher. I'd say by the looks of it, Al had a GREAT time and what an awesome experience! She did get a new suit because all of her suits are two pieces (easier to go to the bathroom) but she sai...

5th Grade Fun at the Wave Pool!

As a final field trip/fun day for the fifth graders, they went to the wave pool!  They went on the last Friday of school which was a bummer for me because I couldn't go.  Thankfully my AMAZING mama went and snapped some pics.  She so amazing because it DID rain for a bit!  Still she stayed so that I could get a glimpse into the fun they were having!  I have no idea why my boy kept his shirt on during the trip but it did make him easier to find... Joe said it was AWESOME and, next to the play, it was the best thing about fifth grade.  He said there was this GIANT slide ("like 50 feet in the air") and that he wasn't sure at first but his friends said, "Come on Joe, you can do it!" so he went up all the flights of stairs and as he went up the ground got smaller and smaller... (it's fun to hear his take on it- the boy is a story- teller!) He was spun around in his tube and it was AWESOME!!  My mom got some video of the kids in the wave pool and...
