We sometimes celebrate Nana on Tuesdays!

Memorial Day Parade 2022

Image
After Bayshore we had a day to recover and then we headed home so that the Big Boys could march in the Memorial Day parade! You can see a video of them HERE .

Bayshore 2022! DANG JOE!!!

Image
Memorial Day has equaled the Bayshore 10k for us lately and it was great to be back at it! Personally I was NOT looking so forward to running because I'm still dealing with the nonsense of covid! I ran better than I thought- gave myself permission to walk and just listen to my body. Imagine my SHOCK when the leaders started coming back and I saw JOEY IN THE TOP TEN!!!! I couldn't believe it and that definitely fueled me some!! At that point I was texting and running but I didn't care. I was SO excited for our boy! Joey ended up finishing SEVENTH OVERALL!!! And this is a big race! It's a BQ for the marathoners and those wanting to do the olympics too! As I posted out- Joe came in 7th (I did not!)  You can see video I took of Joe on the course and video Jeff got at the finish HERE ! Below are just some fun photos to remember this AWESOME day!!

Sean's Last 6th Grade Concert

Image
And then it was Sean's turn! The boys had fun because they knew ALL the songs at the concert (and so did we). Seven years and counting! Great job, Seany! Your fan club loves you!!

Joe's LAST Band Concert

Image
Although he is officially DONE with school, the wind ensemble (which is like an honors band) played one final concert and we were all there to cheer Joe on. HERE is a video and below are pictures of some from his fan club!

Spirit of the Knight Award

Image
I was excited to learn that Ali was given a "Spirit of the Knight" award. She was nominated by one of her favorite teachers (Ms. Terry) and this is what the award says  (in case my picture is too blurry which it may be).  You make my heart happy when: you are in my classroom! Ali, you are an all-around outstanding person who brings joy to the classroom. You are always friendly to everyone, generous with your kindness, and considerate to those around you. You are also such a hard worker, motivated to achieve your goals without complaint. Thank you for being awesome! My kids have gotten a lot of awards for sports or grade achievements but this may be my favorite because it seems it is given to someone for being a good human~ The ultimate goal! Congrats to my Amazing Ali Jane!

The Pirate Show

Image
Sean did a GREAT job in the play, "The Pirate Show." He was a bit of comic relief because he played the "Shark Bait' and had to woo another pirate! It was funny! They were both great and big crowd pleasers! The cool thing is, his counter-part also happens to be the sister of one of my remote kindergarteners! It was so great to see Lydia (my first time seeing her in real life!). I have no idea why I don't have a picture with Nana and Papa or the Drapals... maybe they missed it. I'm playing MAJOR catch up- but I do have clips of Seany's parts that you can see HERE .

Senior Sunset

Image
Senior Sunset is the last thing the seniors do at WLN! They played games, sang Karaoke, had a senior slideshow and just enjoyed each other! Joe sent me some pictures so I wanted to share them here for him. No parents were allowed!  GoodKnight, Class of 2022! And just one last thing...

My Other Seniors Clap-Out

Image
It wasn't just Joey who walked through the halls of his old elementary school, I had MY old students walk through MY school! This was a big (and memorable) class for me because it was when Bob Furca moved me to the ONE grade I asked him not to, first. And so this group is one I'll definitely remember as the start of a new era! The last two years, I didn't have any seniors because I had gone from 3rd to 1st. The kids walked through the halls as we clapped and were told they couldn't come back (but a few favorites did and it made my day!!!) Congratulations, Class of 2022!!

Senior Clap Out

Image
Well, here we are! Back where it started! The day after their last day the seniors go back to their elementary schools and walk the halls as the kids clap them out! This was especially big because the elementary where our kids went will be no longer soon! They are tearing it down and building a new school. The kids are not happy about it, but it is what it is. I'm glad Joey got one last walk-thru. The others won't get that (in THEIR school at least). The school is basically a construction site and the shell of the new school is up so the kids did get to get a sneak peek (at the outside at least). Thankfully, Nana was able to go and take lots of pictures and I also had some video sent to me. I put it all together in the most perfect video EVER that you can see HERE .
