Reunited and It Feels so Good!

Image
Jamie let us know that she was going to be in town so we were going to go to Kensington and catch up. I threw out there that if everyone wanted, we could meet at the lake instead~ and just like that I was whisked back to my childhood!  In addition to my high school friends (Kim, Jamie & Nevada- pictured at top), two of my college roomies came too (Dawn and Kristen). I hadn't seen some of them in years and it was so great to catch up and see/meet everyone's kiddos! Love that my mom was there because we were able to get some cool pictures and I know she loved seeing everyone as much as they loved seeing her. The hubbies came too and Jamie's sister, her fiance', and her step daughter were there as well. Glad we were able to get a picture of all the kids (and of course a pic with the kids with their mamas)! Thanks to my mama for letting us crash the old pad!

Reunion (again...)

Image
Jessica, Jenny and I put out there again that we'd have another high school low-key reunion at the bar.  Only eight people came and the night was fun and interesting... I'll leave it at that. Jessica and I had a blast though and we definitely need to do it again! The strangest thing about the night was that I felt some guy looking at me and suddenly he says, "Can I ask you something... Are you a teacher?" When I said yes he said, "I think you were my second grade teacher!" I asked him his name and as soon as he said it, I saw his second grade self in his face.  I knew exactly who he was! He's currently a teacher and so is his brother (who I also had).  He said that neither of us had changed. I will take that as a compliment~ though clearly this kiddo has changed a bit since I had him when he was 8. Love it when I get to see my kids all grown up!!

Twenty-(something) Reunion

Last year when Jessica, Jenny and I were doing our 20th reunion we decided NO MORE!  It was terribly stressful finding everyone and making everyone happy.  Last year we just told everyone to show up at the bar the first Saturday in August every year and hopefully there will be some familiar faces! Jamie and Crissie drove in from out of state and they came out to the lake in the afternoon where we caught up and drank some wine on the boat. It was fun laughing and reminiscing! Later, my mom drove Ang and I (so we didn't have to drive) and I loved catching up with old friends! We drank and laughed and had a blast dancing!  Jessica and I decided we need to make these nights twice a year (at least).  Maybe we'll have to do something like this for my 40th.  It was such fun dancing with my old girlfriends and bonus... added steps on the fitbit!!  Joey Mal now manages where we were and it was great to see him.  He took great care of us. ...

20th High School Reunion!

Image
Me, Jenny and Jessica About 6 months ago my high school friend Jenny contacted me and Jessica and reminded us that it had been 20 years since we graduated high school and that we should probably put something together to celebrate.  To say it was a lot of work was an understatement!  I think the biggest hurdle was finding everyone.  Then we had to try to find what kind of event people wanted... where... when... Thank God for Survey Monkey and Facebook!  We went with what the majority wanted and had the reunion at a bar and made it a cool casual night. Shawn was one who really helped sell tickets and find people too!  Just because it was at a bar though doesn't mean that it was an 'easy' thing.  There was food and we had to make deposits for the room... etc.  To do this, we needed to pre-sell tickets.  I don't think everyone maybe understood why we wanted them to buy tickets early and we really worried that we wouldn't make the money a...
