St. Patrick's Day

Thankfully those pesky leprechauns have realized that we're too tired to search for their gold or try to catch them so they did us a solid and just left treats! The weekend before many of Joe's friends came home and they joined us (kind of) for some fun at the Cosman's house. Of course they were away from us but we did have to try for an annual pyramid shot! I passed on that this year!

Happy St. Patty's Day

I always wonder when the day will happen when the leprechaun stops showing up. I was thankful he made another appearance this year. I wondered (with it being Covid and all) and NOT ONE DORAN tried to make a trap this year... But~ when we woke there was a mess so we knew he must have come. He seemed to do a lot of the same shenanigans he usually does, green mile, and little clues left all over the house. I know that MY leprechauns were hopeful that their lucky charms would be at the end of the rainbow, er... uh... hunt! Sure enough, it was Sean that solved the riddle nad we all lucked out with a little treasure! Happy St. Patty's Day, everyone!

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day was on a Tuesday. Normally we would all be going to school but because of Covid, we were all home and I'm not going to lie, I love that all the kids were able to go on the scavenger hunt together! Yes! The Leprechaun still came, made a mess and left clues around the house. It was great to see the kids working out the clues together to find the treasure which was (of course) a box of Lucky Charm cereal and a few other fun trinkets. And this mom got the gift of a group picture! Normally the Bigs are gone before Zach even gets up and Zach leaves before Sean is up so to have them all together and sitting at the island having breakfast was pretty cool! Even Marty got in the holiday spirit with his green bow! School is weird... I'm helping Sean with his posted lessons and I think he kind of likes having mom help him. ' I KNOW Marty is getting spoiled having us all home! One of Sean's lessons today was to draw a leprechaun. We all got into it and did it...

The Leprechaun Came

There were no traps again this year but to my surprise- though the Bigs COULD have slept in, they opted to go on the scavenger hunt with the Littles. It was a fun morning and they found their treasure!

St. Patty's with the Coz

And finally... We made it to the Cosmans'~ fashionably late as we Dorans usually are for such things. Jeff blamed it on me but I was in the car waiting for him and I DID run 5 miles in addition to all my other crazy "running" during the day. I was ready to unwind with friends! It was awesome to see everyone including people we hadn't seen in a while! We also met some new friends. There was too much food as usual and the pyramid tradition was rockin'! I love these people and our fun shenanigans! Happy St. Patty's Day!

The Leprechauns Came!

Zach and Sean worked on fooling the Leprechaun again but it was no use! They put forth a great effort but when they woke up, the house was a mess and green tape was on every door and cupboard! Of course the trap was empty but a clue was left and so started the scavenger hunt for treasure. They noticed some of the shenanigans the leprechaun had done in the past happened again... green milk, green toilets with green footsteps on the sinks... etc. This was the first time however that a clue lead them outside. Z was the only one to brave the cold to get the clue. Al stayed in bed altogether and Sean thought Z could take one for the team. Z was the most excited I'd say. You would have thought it was Christmas. He was up at FOUR but thankfully went back to sleep until 7. The last clue lead them to the treasure where they found yummy breakfast treats, candy and St. Patty's day mustaches and necklaces! I laughed when Z got out a pencil to edit the last note. It...

St. Paddy's with Friends

Image
St. Patty's day landed on a Friday and I joined my fam over at the Cosmans' for some fun! I had gone earlier with my folks to Lesley's mom's funeral... very sad but so glad I could be there for her. Seeing smiles was just what the doctor ordered. Al and I couldn't stay long because she had a dance competition the next morning but we did stay long enough for some good food and some good laughs. The girls did this... So us grown-ups did this! We had so much fun and ended up making a giant pyramid before we left. I think we have a new St. Paddy's tradition. I love these people! Nothing better than great friends!

St. Patrick's Day

Years ago a tradition started when Joe tried to catch a leprechaun. He never succeeded but the littles still have hope that we'll get him one of these days. Al even made reward signs! They worked together and actually had a pretty good plan. But in the morning there was a mess~ no leprechaun but they did find the first clue.  One clue led to the next and the Littles were on a scavenger hunt (bright and early because leprechaun hunting is almost as fun as Santa). They snaked around the house until even the Bigs joined in. They finally found the last clue under the sink. And along with the clue was their beloved sugar cereal (Lucky Charms), some green glow sticks, little hats, beads and mints! Pretty fun stuff!! The final clue said: You did it! You found my treasure it's true! I hope today you'll be wearing green, not blue! For today is a day to celebrate ME! Your leprechaun friend you didn't see. For I am quick and smart and fun, and it's ...
