Each year at the Bigs' school, the fifth graders put on this "13 Colonies" play. I've heard about it for years and it was the thing that Joey was looking forward to most this year. He knew exactly what part he wanted and he went for it. We didn't help him at all. He learned his lines and went out for the part and his peers voted him in!! I guess there were a lot of kids going out for it so we were nervous! His teacher said when quiet little Joe got up and did his lines, his mouth dropped. Perhaps this kid was born for the stage! We heard about the play for weeks and learned all the songs as Joe sang them constantly. I should also mention that Joey has an AMAZING voice! He wasn't flat at all! When I asked him why he didn't sing more he said, "Well, I don't like it all that much..." (Joe Cool).
