DMM 2015

This year, Ali moved up in dance which meant she could have done an audition at DMM (Dance Masters of Michigan).  We opted not to because she's been having some difficulty with anxiety lately (about everything) and thought it would be easier to skip that. We still headed to Lansing overnight with Julia and Amber.  The girls started with classes that went from 1:30-7:30!
The moms had a nice lunch and walked around a bit and then went back for a nap (my favorite).  We decided to get a pizza for our girls because they had a dance party that started at 8 for all the dancers.  We went back to the hotel to change and eat and then the girls were off to the party!
It was fun to see all the new dancers this year.  Some of the girls seemed so little but then so were our girls just 4 years ago when we first started this stuff!  It's amazing how time will fly when you're having fun (or when you have kids).
The girls had a blast dancing.  They really put on a fun party for all the dancers.  They had some munchies and drinks, trinkets and of course a DJ and music!  I don't think the girls sat down, which is saying something since they spent all day dancing.
The dance moms had fun too.  We mostly sat at a table putting up with the loud, thumping music and again we had some interesting people-watching experiences but this year our girls did pull us up to dance a song (per the DJ's instruction).
I couldn't believe the energy these girls had! They complained earlier how sore they were but you couldn't see that when they were on the dance floor for sure.  I made a video of their fun that you can see HERE.
After the party we walked up to the Capital in hopes that the Christmas tree would be lit again like it was last year... sadly it wasn't, but we still got a picture of the kids and they had fun checking out the capital and running up the stairs.

I had a lot of steps for the day but I know that the girls had so much more... Maybe next year I'll have Al wear my Fitbit to see.  It would be interesting... with so many hours of classes, the dance party AND walking the capital~ it was no surprise that Ali had no problem falling asleep when we got back to the hotel.
In the morning we had a little breakfast and then hit the pool (since there was no time the day before).  The girls had so much fun together and fun was exactly what my girl needed!
