Zach's Sick Day?

On Sunday Z had a bit of a runny nose, but nothing serious. He went to Sunday School, Children's Church and eventually spent the day with all of us out on the lake. I didn't think to much of his snotty nose. After all the kids were tucked in bed, Jeff and I were off to do our 'normal' nighttime things... I lay out clothes and double check the backpacks to make sure everything is ready and pack things up for the Littles... He gets all the lunches ready to go and it was so nice to finally settle into bed, chat about the day and read a bit before we went to bed.

But it seemed as I clicked out the light, I heard a croupy cough. Sure enough it was Z- the child who seemed to be sick all last year- the child about whom I had just said, "Wow- he sure has been healthy for a long time." I could hear him whimpering and so I went in to check on my little Goose. I gave him some Vicks, fluffed up his pillows, prayed with him and gave him a little extra TLC. He was very happy to have 'the medicine' (humidifier) and thankfully he did eventually go to bed (and so did we!).

The next morning when he woke he sounded awful. Again he was whimpering and coughing all over the place and so I asked my mom if Z could go to her house for the day and just lay down and rest. She saved the day and Sean and I were off to his school alone, while Z waited for Nana to get the Bigs on the bus so they could go back to her house.

When I called to check on Z, my mom said that he didn't really cough at all and if she asked him about it, suddenly he would put out a dramatic cough to 'sound' sick. I also chuckled when I got these pictures. Z took the lunch Jeff had packed to my mom's, but when it came time to eat he insisted on 3 plates. Then he unpacked his lunch, putting the separate items on separate plates. And because he had three plates, he also needed three drinks...

Oh the life of a three year old.

So Z got me. I bought it hook, line and sinker. Next time he'll be going to school- and then watch, I'll probably get a call saying to come get him because he's sick.

It's just another day in the life of the silly Goose- and I can tell you it's NEVER a dull day to be his mother!

    Awww, we love our silly Goose ZacH!! Such a character! Glad he wasn't really sick. Love the new photo of all of you out on the ice. Winter magic!

    When I saw the picture of him smiling I was thinking that he didn't look very sick. Hope he is still feeling well. Love the three plates and glasses!

So tired...

It's getting to me... I don't know if it's the sleep deprivation or the crazy schedule of being a full time working mom and having four kids at home... but it's getting to me. I am so tired. Last night I was up at midnight with Sean, then at 2:30 with Joe who was sick and threw up, I got back to bed at 3 and slept for 15 minutes until Sean woke up again. I let him cry for 45 MINUTES until I could take it no more, staggered into his room and nursed him. And then I was up before six to start my day which looks something like this.. Saying Goodbye...

Well, we knew this day would come.  Prayed that it would be clear and it was. On Sunday night I laid with Cobi as I have (more so in recent weeks).  He asked to go outside at one point and he was out longer than usual.  I called for him to come inside and he didn't come. I had been cleaning the kitchen and I thought perhaps I had let him inside.  My brain isn't the best. I ran upstairs and to all his favorite places, but he was nowhere to be found.  I grabbed my shoes, wrapped my arms around me and went out to the cold calling for my baby, in a panic.  He came to me slowly from out in the darkness and when we got inside I sat with him, wrapped my arms around him and cried. It's the Honest Scrap!

So some of you know that I have two blogs. This blog- which has reflected on my day to day adventures with my living children, things I love and the occasional "Pause" blog where I remember my angels. My other blog (That I refer to as my 'Pause' blog) has been an entire blog about my angels-a therapy to me in a sense- how they've changed me, restored me and helped me.
